We are delighted to announce that Nathan Lowe has been appointed to the Senior coaching role for the Swans. Kodie has done an exceptional job leading the development of our young playing list in recent years and is looking forward to assisting Nathan as he takes on the role heading into 2025.
Nathan comes with a very extensive coaching resume and is extremely excited about the opportunity to take on our senior coaching position.
As we know from recent announcements the NTFA is working through an extensive restructure which we expect will continue to evolve for a few years to come, Nathan’s extensive coaching experience across a range of levels in Northern Tasmania is seen as a real strength as our aspiration will always be to play at the highest level of competition that we are capable of. Nathan has experience across a range of northern clubs and divisions. Having grown up in the Fingal Valley and coached Fingal, Nathan has a great understanding of our region and a country community footy club. Nathan said, ‘I am very excited to have the opportunity to coach the East Coast Swans. Having come from the Valley originally, I feel the time is right to give back to where my football journey began. The club has been in tremendous hands over the years and is well set to take on all challenges moving forward. My past teammates and longtime friends now have children playing at the club and I’m really looking forward to being around them again and continue the great culture and pathway for their kids.
The retention of current players and the development of the club’s youth is a high priority and to compliment that, the recruitment of new and experienced players will create a great mixture and that will bring the best out of everyone’.
The Bay Boys played an outstanding second half to come from 24 points down part way through the second quarter to defeat Perth 10 8 - 68 to 8 11 - 59. Ethan Goldfinch was awarded the Best on Ground medallion and Nick Child in a classy forward line role kicked four goals. Nathan Lowe highlighted the whole team contribution as being a critical factor in the second half turn round.
